Her practice considers the performative nature of human gesture and its relationship to individual and cultural identity. Awarded internationally (Los Angeles, San Francisco, The Hague, Naples, London and Hong Kong) her films and multi-channel installations have been exhibited, among other venues, at Centre for Contemporary Art Palazzo Strozzi, Florence; the National Museum of Photography, Copenhagen; the Herzliya Museum of Contemporary Art, Israel; the Austrian Cultural Forum, NYC and the Bologna Museum of Modern Art. Solo exhibitions featuring her most recent multi-channel project Faith (2015) include Galeria Senda, Barcelona; Summerhall Galleries, Edinburgh; and the Koffler Gallery, Toronto. Her works have been selected in more than one-hundred festivals worldwide, and have often screened in museums and filmothèques, such as the Getty Centre L.A, Fondazione Merz Turin, Museo de Arte Moderno de Cali, FACT Liverpool, Lincoln Centre NY, and Al-Kasaba Ramallah. Isabel has received art broadcast commissions from Arte Tv France/ Germany, Channel 4 UK and TV3 Spain. Her film Horizon of Exile (2007) has been published on DVD by the British Council Forward Motion Collection.
Isabel is Visiting Lecturer in Film Directing (MA) at Edinburgh Napier University as well as an AHRC PhD candidate at the University of Edinburgh, where she also tutors in European Cinema.
